Application Fields Of Plasma Technique

Various chemical or physical processes occuring in the plasma can be used in practice.

Plasma is Assumed To Be The Fourth State Of The Matter

The application of plasma technique can be broken down as follows:

• Gas Discharge Lamps: Among other things, energy-saving lamps, fluorescent lamps and arc lamps contain matters in the plasma state

• Surface Engineering: Plasmas are used in semiconductor technology for plasma etching and plasma-induced material deposition . In coating technology, functional layers such as silvering or anti-adhesive layers are applied. In material technology, plasmas are used for surface modification (roughening), for plasma-induced material deposition ( say, plasma polymerization), for surface hardening, cleaning or plasma oxidation

• Analysis Technique: for the etching of sample materials (plasma ashing) and in instruments for the detection of metals (Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP),)

• Materials Processing: plasma welding, spark erosion and plasma cutting.

• Plasma Displays :   in TV and monitoring systems, acceptable contrast ratio and ability to render deeper blacks.  High  color accuracy and saturation.

• Fusion Research: The fuel in a magnetic confinement experiment is in plasma state.

• Plasma Medicine:  We can give 2 fields for example
-Plasma Disinfection:Disinfection of objects, body parts, wounds, etc.
-Coblation: The high-energy ions in the plasma can remove human tissues at relatively low temperatures below 70 ° C. This is used for surgical intervention on intervertebral discs , palatine tonsils or turbinactomy.
